Many emancipated youth who are looking for a way to save money can look at local commuting options in their area. There are many advantages to using public transportation:

1. Avoid the need to purchase a car on a tight budget.
2. Many local communiting alternatives are either very low-cost or free.
3. Commuting helps keep greenhouse gas emissions and smog-causing particulates down.
4. Bicycling provides a good form of exercise.

Cost Advantages to Commuting
If you compare the rising cost of gas, parking and auto maintenance to the cost of a local commuting alternative, you’ll find that commuting is usually a more economical choice.
