Technical and Vocational Certificates | Internships and Apprenticeships
For vocational or classroom training for individuals 16 and older and not currently enrolled in high school, contact your local department of education office. Most counties have an adult education program; classes are available to assist you in acquiring your G.E.D. or your high school diploma. The adult programs also offer literacy programs and English as a second language (E.S.L.).

For high school graduates; for non high school graduates at least 18 years of age or for individuals under 18 years of age who have a G.E.D. or who have passed the California proficiency exam Community College is the best place to earn your A.A. (associate of arts) certificate.

Vocational certificates can also be obtained through a Regional Occupational Program (R.O.P.) Vocational classes could offer computer courses, cabinet making, auto mechanics, welding, fire fighting, real estate, graphics & printing, computerized accounting and income tax preparation. R.O.P. classes are offered to individuals 16 years of age or older.
